Each year the Livermore-Amador Symphony Association (LASA) presents awards to graduating high school seniors to recognize students who have made significant contributions to school and community musical activities.
Since 1973, the LASA has conducted an annual Competition for Young Musicians. The competition takes place in October and the winners perform as soloists with the Symphony at
its February concert and receive a monetary award.
In coordination with the Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center, LASA presents a family-oriented concert at Livermore’s Bankhead Theater on an afternoon in early December.
The Fiddle Club program of LASA aimed at introducing elementary school children to playing the violin. Happily, the return of instrumental music instruction to elementary schools of the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District made Fiddle Club redundant.
